寄宿对农村中小学生学习成绩的影响:提升还是抑制?——基于CFPS数据的因果推断研究

摘  要:基于CFPS2010和2014年调查数据,文章使用逆概率加权回归调整方法分析了寄宿对农村中小学生学习成绩的因果效应。研究结果表明,寄宿对农村中小学生字词和数学成绩均有积极影响,但这种影响存在异质性。分性别来看,寄宿对男生数学成绩的积极影响很大,对女生字词和总成绩的积极影响也很大。分学段来看,寄宿显著地提升了小学生的学习成绩,但对初中生群体没有显著影响。此外,寄宿对学习成绩的影响还受到家庭背景的调节,家庭背景相对弱势的农村孩子能够从寄宿中获益更多。文章的研究结论对完善乡村寄宿学校的管理服务具有重要的借鉴意义。Based on the data of China Family Panel Studies in 2010 and 2014,this article examines the boarding effect on the academic performance of rural primary and secondary school students aged 10 to 15,with implying inverse-probability-weighted regression adjustment method.Our findings suggest that:(1)Boarding significantly improves the verbal and math performance of rural primary and secondary school students.(2)Boarding has a positive effect on both boys'and girls’academic performance and girls can benefit most from it.(3)Boarding has a positive effect on primary school students’academic performance.Finally,the impact of boarding on primary students’academic performance is moderated by family background and boarding plays a more significant role in improving the academic performance of disadvantaged students.These findings have important implications for improving the management and service level of Chinese rural boarding schools.
