摘　　要：刘荣跃系中国文学翻译领域的著名人物,以“翻译经典杰作,译介研究欧文,写作散文随笔”为宗旨。他的翻译实践以文学翻译为主,同时还主编各类图书,兼写散文、论文等。本文全面、系统地梳理了刘荣跃的翻译实践,发现其最为核心的翻译思想是:直译与意译应当在精通双语、拥有丰富“杂学知识”的译者把控下适度结合以达到“文如其人”的效果,并指出研究其翻译思想与中国传统翻译理论的承传关系和现实意义,有助于丰富四川翻译家研究。Liu Rongyue is famous in the field of Chinese literary translation.In his translations,he aims at“translating classic masterpieces,translating and studying Washington Irving’s works,and writing essays and proses”.He mainly focuses on literary translation,while also editing various books and writing essays and papers.By comprehensively and systematically sorting out Liu Rongyue’s translation practice,the core of his translation theory is that the methods of literal and free translation should be combined appropriately in the hands of a translator who is not only effectively bilingual but also rich in cultural background knowledge to make the translation mirrors the author.It has found that studying the inheritance relationship and practical significance between his translation theory and traditional Chinese translation theories will help enrich the research of Sichuan translators.
