摘　　要：中国古代四大名著文化英语译介是一种元认知跨文化模因传播活动。翻译元认知为译者自身知识、理解能力,以及控制和操控认知过程的能力,其对翻译认知活动进行认知和调控。译者元认知运用还原法、对照法翻译《水浒传》饮食文化;采用意象替换法、文化阐释法翻译《三国演义》军事文化;使用受众呼唤法、画面营造法翻译《西游记》社会文化;借助概念整合法、内涵明示法翻译《红楼梦》生态文化。译者元认知最大限度地保留四大名著文化内涵,实现两种文化的融合与创造。四大名著文化的成功传译有利于贯彻落实国家文化战略,有利于传播中华优秀传统文化,彰显民族文化自信,充分展示中华文化的特殊魅力。The English translation of Four Great Classical Novels of ancient China is a kind of metacognitive cross-cultural meme communication activity.Translation metacognition is the translator's own knowledge,comprehending capacity and ability to control and manipulate the cognitive process,which cognizes and regulates translation cognitive activities.The translators'metacognition translates the dietetic culture of The Water Margin by employing the techniques of Reduction and Contrast.The military culture of The Romance of the Three Kingdoms is translated by means of Image Replacement and Cultural Interpretation.The social culture of Journey to the West is conveyed by using the techniques of Audience Calling and Picture Construction.The ecological culture of A Dream of Red Mansions is transmitted by means of Concept Integration and Connotation Ostension.Translators'metacognition retain the cultural connotation of Four Great Classical Novels to the maximum and realizes the integration and creation of the two cultures.The successful cultural interpretation of Four Great Classical Novels is conducive to the implementation of the national cultural strategy and to the transmission of excellent traditional Chinese culture,the enhancement of the self-confidence of national culture and full demonstration of the special charm of Chinese culture.
