数字时代机器翻译引发的问题及思考

摘　　要：数字时代的机器翻译技术是一把“双刃剑”,其在发挥积极作用的同时也会带来一些消极效应。机器翻译会给外语教育、大众语言生活、译者带来一系列问题和影响,比如学习者失去学习动机、语言及创新思维能力降低、引发应用规范及伦理问题、损害语言多样性、抹杀读者阅读积极性、削弱源语文化意识和思维方式、对翻译从业者产生冲击、译者的主体性被削弱、译者工作热情和职业满意度下降、易对机器翻译产生依赖等。今后外语教育中应积极规避风险,化“危机”为“转机”,机器翻译技术的开发和应用需语言学家助力支持,人机交互时代应保持人工翻译的能力优势,这样才能更好地促进人机共生时代人机文明的和谐发展。Machine translation technology in the digital age is a“double-edged sword”,which can not only play a positive role but also produce some negative effects.Machine translation will produce a series of problems and impacts on foreign language education,popular language life and translators.For example,machine translation may make learners lose their learning motivation,weaken their language ability and creative thinking ability,produce application and ethical problems,harm linguistic diversity,reduce reading motivation,weaken the cultural consciousness and way of thinking in the source language,have a negative impact on translation practitioners,weaken the subjectivity of translators and their enthusiasm for their work and professional satisfaction,and lead to their dependence on machine translation and so on.In the future,foreign language education should actively avoid risks and turn“crisis”into“opportunity”.The development and application of machine translation technology require the support and assistance of linguists.In the era of human-computer interaction,the advantages of human translation should be maintained in order to promote the harmonious development of human-machine civilization in the era of human-machine symbiosis.
