论“珀涅罗珀”意识流语篇性的编织与拆解

摘　　要：《尤利西斯》第十八章“珀涅罗珀”描写了女主人公莫莉躺在床上的所思所想,被誉为意识流的“典范”。学界主流观点认为该章中作者乔伊斯完全退出小说,原原本本地展示了人物凌乱不堪、缺乏逻辑的意识,强调“珀涅罗珀”内容的杂糅及上下衔接的缺失。从系统功能语言学语篇性的视角看,乔伊斯实则通过操纵指称、词汇衔接、主位、标点等,对语篇进行着“编织”与“拆解”,这一精心设计不仅使意识流达到真实性和可读性间的动态平衡,更呼应了《奥德赛》中人物的纺织行为,与史诗主题深度契合。Describing Molly Bloom’s remembrances and perceptions at bedtime,“Penelope”,the eighteenth Episode of Ulysses is hailed as the pinnacle of Stream-of-Consciousness writing.Scholars generally hold that Joyce manages to show Molly’s messy and illogical consciousness in its entirety by completely withdrew from this episode,so the lack of texture of“Penelope”has long been the focus of critical concerns.Based on the concept of texture of Systemic Functional Linguistics,it becomes evident that Joyce“wove”and“unwove”the texture of Molly’s Stream-of-Consciousness by innovating textual devices of reference,lexical cohesion,theme system and punctuation.This meticulously crafted texture not only strikes a delicate balance between authenticity and readability,but also resonates with the weaving and unweaving of Penelope in Odyssey,mirroring the epic theme of this Episode.
