A New Discussion on the Development Stages of Chuanshan Studies

摘  要:经过重新论证,认为船山学在历史上的发展经过了以下三个阶段:一是官绅结合确立船山历史地位的阶段。“官”指朝廷和地方政权,“绅”指曾经任过官职的知识分子。这一阶段的时间是从船山逝世到辛亥革命(1692—1911)。二是在对立思维中研究船山的阶段。“对立”包括帝国主义与中华民族、资产阶级与无产阶级、唯物主义与唯心主义、理学与反理学等之间的对立。这一阶段的时间是从中华民国建立到文化革命结束(1912—1976)。三是从文化角度全面深入研究船山的阶段。学者在这一段将“船山学”作为一个巨大的文化建设工程,从多方面展开深入研究。这一阶段是与内地改革开放同时起步并进步的。After re-examination, it is believed that the development of Chuanshan studies in history has gone through three stages. The first stage is to establish Chuanshan’s historical status through the combination of officials and gentry.“Official”here refers to the imperial court and local political power, while“gentry”refers to the intellectuals who have previously held official positions. This stage lasted from the death of Chuanshan to the Revolution of 1911 (1692-1911). The second stage is to study Chuanshan in the context of opposition thinking. The“opposition”includes the opposition between imperialism and the Chinese nation, bourgeoisie and proletariat, materialism and idealism, Neo Confucianism and anti Neo Confucianism, etc. This stage lasted from the establishment of the Republic of China to the end of the Cultural Revolution (1912-1976). And the third stage is to comprehensively and deeply study Chuanshan from a cultural perspective. The scholars in this period regard“Chuanshan studies”as a huge cultural construction project and conduct in-depth research from multiple perspectives. This stage started and progressed simultaneously with the mainland’s reform and opening up.
