摘　　要：自20世纪初起,中国传统戏曲进入域外中国文学研究视野。英语世界的中国文学史专书对于中国戏曲史的处理,最初是对名篇名作的译选,其后出现戏剧史专论,进而视戏曲史为中国文学史的重要组成部分,最终出现切入某个主题、以“文化”兼具“历史叙述”的戏曲史书写新尝试。Since the early 20th century, traditional Chinese opera has become a branch subject in overseas Chinese literature studies. In the English-speaking world, the subject started with translations to classical operas, then there emerged monographs on its history, which has been regarded as an essential component of the history of Chinese literature. More recently, there have been innovative attempts to write the history of traditional Chinese opera from the perspective of certain themes, which have tried to integrate both cultural and historical narrative elements.
