基于语料库的民航术语一词多译现象考察——以“复飞”为例

摘　　要：单义性是术语的基本特征,也是术语标准化和规范化的基本要求,但在翻译实践中,由“一词多义”造成的“一词多译”现象普遍存在。“复飞”是典型的民航技术术语,广泛用于民航规章和规范性文件、技术手册、飞行员和管制员陆空通话等场合,其规范英译和使用事关航空安全。通过自建的国际民航组织英汉平行语料库(ICAOPC)检索发现,“复飞”在英语中存在missed approach、go-around、balked landing和overshoot四个对应术语。本研究通过定量和定性相结合的方式,对“复飞”及其四个英文对应术语的使用进行了考察,通过权威机构的单语语料对术语内涵进行了验证,并就相关术语的英汉互译及其对术语翻译的启示提出见解。Monosemy is a basic feature of terminology,and also the basic requirement for terminology standardization.However,a term may have multiple translations due to its polysemy.The Chinese term fufei is widely used in civil aviation regulations,regulatory documents,technical manuals,and pilot-controller communication,and its standardized translation and usage are highly important to aviation safety.From the self-built International Civil Aviation Organization English-Chinese Parallel Corpus(ICAOPC),it is found that there are four corresponding terms in English,namely,missed approach,go-around,balked landing and overshoot.Through a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods,the use of the term fufei and its four English equivalents are examined,the connotations of the terms are verified through the monolingual corpus of authoritative organizations,and insights into the translation of the related term and its implications for terminology translation are presented.
