摘　　要：《庄子》是一部极具中国文化特色的古典名著之一,其英译版本众多。以理雅各《庄子》内篇英译本为研究对象,从苏珊·巴斯奈特文化翻译观视角出发,探讨理雅各在翻译标题、基本哲学概念以及代表性修辞手法时为实现原文与译文文化功能对等所运用的翻译策略与方法。研究发现:理雅各《庄子》内篇英译本中,音译意译结合、音译加注等翻译方式较为常见;其对原语文化信息的处理方法符合巴斯奈特文化翻译观对译者所提出的要求,在翻译过程中尽量保留原作的文化元素,产出了可读性强、符合目的语读者需求的译文。从巴斯奈特文化翻译观视角研究理雅各《庄子》内篇英译本中的语言现象与问题,探寻西方译者在英译中国文化典籍中采取的策略与方法,有助于还原中华经典文化外译风貌,助力讲好中国故事,传播好中国声音。Chuang-tzu is one of the classical works with great Chinese cultural characteristics,and there are many English translations.From the perspective of Susan Basnet's cultural translation perspective,this paper explores the translation strategies and methods used by James Legge in the translation of titles,basic philosophical concepts and representative rhetorical devices to achieve the equivalence of cultural functions between the original text and the target text.It is found that in the English translation of the Inner Chapters of Chuang-tzu by James Legge,the combination of transliteration and free translation,as well as transliteration plus annotation are relatively commonly used translation methods.The method of handling the cultural information of the source language meets the requirements of Basnet′s view of cultural translation.It preserves the cultural elements of the original text as much as possible in the translation process,and produces a readable translation that meets the needs of the target language readers.From the perspective of Basnet′s cultural translation,this paper studies the linguistic phenomena and problems in the English translation of Chuang-tzu by James Legge,explores the strategies and methods adopted by western translators in the translation of Chinese cultural classics,hoping to restore the foreign translation style of Chinese classical culture,help better tell china′s stories and make china′s voice heard.
