摘 要:本研究基于MTIC和PROC两个可比语料库,从词汇复杂度和句法复杂度两个维度,探讨在政治文献翻译领域里MTI学生译文与专业译者译文的差异。研究发现:1)译者翻译水平是造成译文复杂度差异的关键因素;2)在词汇复杂度方面,MTI学生译文在词汇难度及词汇多样性的11个指标上均显著高于专业译者译文,表明MTI学生倾向于使用复杂化和多样化的词汇来增强译文的表层专业性;3)在句法复杂度方面,MTI学生与专业译者的译文在T单位长度、T单位复杂度以及复杂T单位占比3个指标上有显著差异。MTI学生在简化复杂句式和显化逻辑结构方面较专业译者有所不足。这些发现为提升MTI学生在政治文献翻译领域的译文质量提供了重要的指导和参考。Based on two comparable corpora,the MTIC and PROC,this study investigated the differences between the translations of political documents by MTI students and professional translators in terms of lexical and syntactic complexity.The findings reveal the following:1)Translators'proficiency was the key factor which caused differences in the complexity of translations.2)Regarding lexical complexity,translations by MTI students exhibited significantly higher scores across the 1l measures of lexical sophistication and variation than professional translators.This indicates that MTI students tend to use a more sophisticated and varied vocabulary to enhance the superficial professionalism of their translations at the expense of intrinsic readability.3)Regarding syntactic complexity,the main differences between translations by MTI students and professional translators were observed in three measures:the mean length of the T-unit,T-unit complexity ratio,and complex T-unit ratio.MTI students lagged behind professional translators in simplifying complex sentence structures and clarifying logical relationships.These findings provide valuable insights for improving the translation quality of political documents translated by MTI students.
