On the Translatability of Poetry

摘　　要：This paper discusses some reasons for the translatability of poetry since throughout the history of translation many theorists and scholars advocate that poetry is translatable.The“common core”shared by people speaking different languages,the theoretical basis to define translation correctly,and historical facts of poetry translation all lend support to the point that translation of poetry is possible.
