摘  要:志怪小说近年逐渐在学术界中展开讨论,但以描述性翻译研究的手段对单个志怪小说的英译研究则寥寥可数。从《汉魏六朝小说选》中挑选有关《洛阳伽蓝记》的翻译篇目,如《狐魅》《白堕春醪》《子渊》等作品,以叙事学与符号学的理论为观照,审视三篇文本及其英译本中所折射的三种文化符号内涵,即“狐妖”(体现女性的平等与反抗意识)、“神酒”(体现人对超自然能力的崇拜与征服意识)和“洛神”(体现人的主体独立意识),阐释英译本所起的跨文化传播的积极意义。In recent years,Chinese supernatural tales have been gradually discussed in academic circles,but there are few studies on English translations of the specific cases.Several pieces were collected in Selected Tales of the Han,Wei and Six Dynasties Periods translated by Yang Xianyi and Yang Gladys,such as Lady into Fox,Liu Baiduo’sWine,and The Spirit of the River Luo.Drawing on semiotics within cultural contexts,the paper aims to examine and review the cultural connotations of the specific supernatural signs in each piece,in order to explore and expose the inherent metaphysical pursuit of the existential awareness of human beings which are rewritten and manipulated through the translations,such as Chinese female’s spirit of striving for equality through resistance,Chinese people’s worship and hope of mastering the supernatural powers as well as the awareness of subjectivity and independence as for human agency.The study on the difference or diversions between the original texts and the target texts serve to shed new light on the intercultural communications between China and the outside world,so as to promote the cross-cultural dialogues in a positive manner.
