再论奈达的文化翻译观  

On Nida’s View of Cultural Translation

摘  要:自20世纪90年代初以来,中国译界流行着这样一种观点:奈达主张抹杀原文文化,或进行文化蒙蔽,而不是文化交流,是翻译归化派的典型代表,在当下的译学研究中已经过时。然而,通过研究发现:奈达主张的是在不影响沟通与交流的前提下尽量保留原文文化,进行文化交流,而不是文化蒙蔽,甚或文化抹杀。换言之,奈达对翻译中的原文文化是尊重的,不是轻易抹杀的。因而,我们不能简单地把奈达归类为归化派的典型代表。最后指出,我们对奈达文化翻译观的认知应立体化,多角度、要多方位去综合观照,而不是简单平面化地去审视。Since the early 1990s,there has been a popular view in Chinese translation circle that Nida’s attitude towards the cultures in translation is to obliterate or change them in source language,the result of which is that Nida is a representative for domestication in translation;thus,Nida’s view of cultural translation is out of date in the current translation studies.However,after an in-depth study,we find out that what Nida advocates is seek to preserve the cultures in source language as far as possible except for the case where some cultures are the barriers to successful communication.For this reason,we believe that Nida is not a typical representative for domestication in translation and respects the cultures in source language in translation rather than obliterates them.Finally,it is pointed out that Nida's view of cultural translation should be comprehended from many perspectives.
