Conceptual Evolution and Transfer:A Cognitive Analysis of Jane Knight’s Ideas on Educational Internationalization

摘　　要：本文运用认知隐喻分析方法,系统考察简·奈特30年来(1994—2024年)在教育国际化研究中认知隐喻的演变。基于对其91篇关键文献的系统分析,本研究构建了一个“结构性—关系性”和“静态—动态”两个维度的“2×2”隐喻分析框架。研究发现,奈特的认知隐喻经历了四个阶段的演变:从强调以“支柱”“基础”等结构/静态隐喻为主,到突出“流动”“路径”等结构/动态隐喻,再到关注“网络”“节点”等关系/静态隐喻,最后发展出“知识外交”“生态系统”等关系/动态隐喻。这种演变反映了高等教育国际化从重视基础设施建设到注重关系网络构建,从静态管理到动态适应的发展趋势。研究显示,国际化不仅需要稳固的组织架构,更需要建立持久的合作关系,并保持战略灵活性以应对全球环境变化。本研究丰富了概念隐喻理论在教育研究中的应用,为理解教育国际化的复杂性提供了新视角。This study employs cognitive metaphor analysis to systematically examine the evolution of Jane Knight’s cognitive metaphors in her research on the internationalization of higher educational over a period of 30 years(1994-2024).Based on the systematic analysis of 91 key publications by Knight,the study constructs a 2×2 metaphorical analysis framework with two dimensions:“structural-relational”and“static-dynamic”.The findings reveal four stages in the evolution of her metaphors:from structural/static metaphors like“pillars”and“foundations”to structural/dynamic metaphors emphasizing“flow”and“paths”,then to relational/static metaphors focusing on“networks”and“nodes”,and finally to relational/dynamic metaphors such as“knowledge diplomacy”and“ecosystem”.This evolution reflects the development trend of higher education internationalization,from an emphasis on infrastructure construction to a focus on relationship network building,and from static management to dynamic adaptation.The study demonstrates that internationalization requires not only solid organizational frameworks but also sustainable partnerships and strategic flexibility to adapt to global changes.The research contributes to the application of conceptual metaphor theory in educational studies and provides new insights into the complexity of educational internationalization.
