摘 要:斯多亚学派和荀子的思想中都体现了生态保护的智慧,二者的生态保护观在一定程度上有相同之处,比如,都承认并尊重自然规律,主张限制人的物质欲望以保护自然资源,追求人与自然的和谐,但二者的生态思想也存在不同之处。斯多亚学派倡导人类与自然宇宙的本质一致,认为爱护自然宇宙就是爱人类自身,荀子保护自然的理论渗透着功利主义色彩,是为了人类更好地生存发展以及追求圣人的名誉才保护宇宙万物。斯多亚学派保护自然的途径是顺从自然法则,荀子保护生态的方式则是依礼且制天命等。两者生态保护思想的相同性能够联结中西方文化中与之相关的思想,而差异性则为两种生态保护思想相互借鉴、取长补短提供依据。The Stoics and Xunzi both embody the wisdom of ecological protection in their philosophies,which to a certain extent share similarities,such as acknowledging and respecting the laws of nature,advocating for the protection of natural resources by limiting human material desires,and pursuing the harmony between humanity and nature.However,there are notable differences in their perspectives.The Stoics,who believe that human nature is consistent with that of the universe,assert that caring for the universe is equivalent to loving humans.In contrast,Xun Zi’s theory of ecological protection is primarily utilitarian,focusing on the betterment of human survival and development,as well as the enhancement of his reputation as a sage.Regarding the methods of protecting nature,the Stoics emphasize adhering to the natural order,while Xun Zi advocates for grasping the endowments of heaven on the basis of propriety.The similarities in their ecological perspectives help to connect relevant ideas from both Chinese and Western cultures,and the differences provide the basis for mutual learning and making up for each other’s deficiencies.
