基于语料库中医名词术语翻译的文化传播性研究——以“经脉”一词英文译法为例

摘　　要：中医作为中国文化的重要组成部分,不仅在医学研究领域占有着重要的地位,也是中国式哲学思想的具象表现,在中国文化的传播上同样具有重要的作用。因此,中医名词术语的翻译不仅是医学研究领域的重要课题,而且对于中国文化传播相关的研究也具有十分重要的意义。世界卫生组织于1991年发布了针对针灸经穴名称的国际化标准方案,其中将“经脉”的英译名称定为“meridian”。但在实际文本当中,“经脉”或“脉”这一概念对应的英语名称除了标准方案中指定的“meridian”以外,还有“channel”和“vessel”等常用词。作为现实语料的电子文本库,语料库无疑是研究语言实际应用的最佳信息来源。该文以“经脉”一词的英文译法为例,选取英国国家语料库作为语料来源,以Sketch Engine作为检索工具,通过词义分析和语料库检索分析,探索“经脉”的主要英文对应词在自然语言中的出现频率,对比分析其文化传播力的差异。As an essential component of Chinese culture,traditional Chinese medicine not only plays an important role in medical research,but also stands for the mindset of Chinese philosophical thinking,which endows itself an equally significant position in dissemination of Chinese culture.Therefore,term translation of traditional Chinese medicine is as much a main subject of study in the field of medicine,as it is in the study of disseminating Chinese culture to the world.WHO published an international standard about terms of acupuncture points and meridians,in which the English word“meridian”was designated for the term“Jingmai”.While in actual texts,there are also“channel”and“vessel”used as the English version of“Jingmai”.To study the actual usage of language,corpus,essentially database of actual texts,are undoubtedly the most appropriate source of information.In this research,the English translation of“Jingmai”is taken as an example,with the British National Corpus as the source of corpus data and Sketch Engine as the tool of search,to explore the frequency of each translation version of“Jingmai”in natural contexts and to analyze their power of cultural dissemination by analyzing meaning of words and search results from the corpus.
