摘　　要：The term“acute-on-chronic liver failure”(ACLF)was initially proposed nearly 30 years ago.[1]ACLF is distinct from decompensated cirrhosis and acute liver failure,representing an independent clinical syndrome resulting from an acute insult on the background of chronic liver disease.[2,3].
