汉英语用差异下扩展策略对小说翻译的影响——以《麦田里的守望者》英汉翻译为例

摘　　要：本文基于小说翻译特征以及汉英语用差异,探讨了小说《麦田里的守望者》两个中译本的翻译。从语用层面来看,汉语重过程,英语重结果,从过程到结果需要压缩,从结果到过程则需要扩展。研究发现,《麦田里的守望者》两译本中部分文段的英汉翻译在一定程度上忽视了汉英语用差异,存在处理不当的情况。研究认为,小说英汉翻译的实践和理论应当先着重考虑以上语言差异,在翻译过程中正确使用扩展策略,进而方能尽可能将原文的真正意义传递给中国读者。This article explores the translation of the novel"The Catcher in the Rye"into two Chinese translations based on the translation characteristics of the novel and the differences in usage between Chinese and English.From a pragmatic perspective,Chinese emphasizes the process,while English emphasizes the result.The transition from process to result requires compression,while the transition from result to process requires expansion.Research has found that the English Chinese translation of some paragraphs in the two translations of'The Catcher in the Rye'has to some extent overlooked the differences in usage between Chinese and English,resulting in improper handling.Research suggests that the practice and theory of translating novels into English and Chinese should first focus on considering the language differences mentioned above,and correctly use expansion strategies in the translation process,in order to convey the true meaning of the original text to Chinese readers as much as possible.
