摘　　要：张之洞“中体西用”教育思想是在清朝末期内忧外患、传统教育日渐衰落的背景下提出的。他提出要广泛学习西学以弥补中学不足,同时要坚持中学的主体地位。在具体实践中,张之洞主张兴办新式学堂,提倡游学教育以及改革科举制度,这对于我们今天树立向西方学习的正确态度,弘扬中华优秀传统文化和加强师资队伍建设具有重要的启示意义。Zhang Zhidong’s educational philosophy of“Chinese Essence and Western Utility”was proposed in the late Qing Dynasty,when internal strife and external threats plagued the country,and traditional education was in decline.He called for extensively studying Western learning to compensate for the shortcomings of Chinese learning while insisting on the dominance of the latter.In practice,he advocated establishing modern schools,promoting overseas education,and reforming the imperial civil examination.These actions offer key insights for our today’s efforts to develop a proper attitude towards learning from the West,promote excellent tradition Chinese culture,and strengthen faculty building.
