父母的过度教育状态与其家庭教育投入行为

摘  要:在教育竞争日趋激烈的背景下,文章基于中国家庭追踪调查数据,实证分析父母自身的过度教育状态与其对子女的家庭教育投入行为之间的关系,并检验了工作时长和收入的中介作用。结果显示:父亲的过度教育状态会增加其对子女的家庭教育经济投入,减少其对子女的教育时间投入;母亲的过度教育状态与上述两方面投入均不显著相关。身处过度教育状态使父亲工作时长增加,部分解释了其较少的教育时间投入;收入在父亲的过度教育状态与教育经济投入的关系中具有显著的遮掩效应。文章从教育-工作错配角度,提供了关于父代教育投入行为的经验证据,并为理解家庭在教育不平等中的作用提供了新见解。Amid intensifying educational competition,this paper empirically analyzes the relationship between parental overeducation and family educational investment based on the data from the China Family Panel Studies.It also examines the mediating roles of working hours and income.The results show that paternal overeducation increases their economic investment in children’s education but reduces time spent on educational activities while maternal overeducation shows no correlation with either form of investment.Overeducated fathers tend to work longer hours,partially explaining the reduced time investment in education,while income acts as a significant suppressor in overeducation-economic investment relationship.This paper provides empirical evidence from the perspective of education and job mismatch and offers new insights into the role of families in educational inequality.
