The Impact of STEM Education on Primary and Secondary School Students’Mathematics Achievement:Evidence Based on Meta-analysis

摘  要:为探究STEM教育对学生数学学业成就的影响,本研究采用元分析方法对国内外43项相关主题的实证研究进行系统分析。研究发现,STEM教育对中小学生数学学业成就具有中等偏上的正向影响,能够显著地积极促进学生数学认知、数学能力以及数学情感的发展。此外,STEM教育对中小学生数学学业成就的作用效果受不同年代、学段、样本规模、国别、班级规模、实践方式、教学场所及实验周期的影响,但不受男性占比、女性占比、测试类型、教学方法及出版类型的调节作用。In order to investigate the impact of STEM education on students’mathematics achievement,this study employs meta-analysis to systematically analyze 43 empirical studies on relevant topics at home and abroad.Results indicate that STEM education has a moderately positive effect on primary and secondary school students’mathematics achievement,significantly enhancing their mathematical cognition,skills,and emotional development.In addition,the effectiveness of STEM education on students varies based on factors such as different time periods,educational stage,sample size,country,class size,implementation method,teaching location,and experimental duration,but is unaffected by the regulation effects of gender ratios,test types,teaching methods,or publication types.
