摘　　要：文章通过阐述布朗大学中文项目近年来在课程设置、教学目标及内容、社区建设等方面作出的诸多尝试,探讨了中文项目与东亚研究本科专业两者之间相辅相成、相得益彰的关系。文章认为,面对新时代的挑战与机遇,重新认识外语学习的意义,定位语言项目在大学通识教育中的作用,对打造一个利于中文项目发展的生态环境至关重要。This article discusses various pedagogical efforts made by the Brown University Chinese program in recent years,including curriculum design,adjusting teaching objectives and content,and community building.It explores the mutually beneficial relationship between the Chinese program and the undergraduate major in East Asian Studies.The author argues that,in the face of challenges and opportunities in the modern era,redefining the significance of foreign language learning and understanding the role of language programs in liberal education are crucial for creating an ecosystem conducive to the development of the Chinese program.
