“五四”时期推进文化自信重塑的理与路——以杜亚泉为例

摘　　要：通过深入剖析“五四”时期启蒙思想家杜亚泉的文化思想,重点探讨了其对中西文化异同优劣的见解、新旧文化调和的路径以及推进文化自信建设的价值。鉴于东西文化存在性质上的差异,杜亚泉主张东西文化调和互补,反对全盘西化或固守传统,提出了“动静论”和“先立后破论”等创新性观点,“动静论”强调中国固有的静的文明的先进性与优越性,认为无需学习效仿西洋的动的文明;“先立后破论”认为,激进的新思想者是因为感性与冲动才会主张推倒一切旧习惯,忽视了传统是建立在人的长期实践与生活中的本质。因此,他倾向于在国家发展的过渡时期缓缓而治,用更加稳健的方式谋发展。其文化思想对于当今推进文化建设、增强文化自信具有参考价值,但也存在无法跳脱出中国固有文化范围等不足。This paper delves into the cultural thoughts of Du Yaquan,an enlightenment thinker in the May Fourth period,with a focus on his insights into the differences and demerits of Chinese and Western cultures,the path to reconciling old and new cultures,and the value of reconstructing cultural confidence.In light of the essential differences between Eastern and Western cultures,Du Yaquan advocated for the harmonization and complementarity of the two cultures,opposing both wholesale Westernization and rigid adherence to tradition.He introduced innovative concepts such as the“static and dynamic civilization”theory and the“establish before abolish”approach.The former theory emphasized that the intrinsic static civilization in China gave birth to its superiority,advocating that there was no need to imitate the dynamic civilization of the West.The latter approach argued that radical proponents of new ideas,who advocated abolishing all old customs as a result of emotion and impulse,neglected that tradition is rooted in long-term human practice and life.Therefore,he favored the governance with a slow and steady approach during the transitional period of national development,seeking progress in a more stable manner.His cultural philosophy holds reference value for contemporary cultural development and confidence-building,yet it has limitations,such as an inability to transcend the scope of China’s inherent culture.
