摘 要:中华茶文化源远流长,茶文化的国际传播对中国对外交流具有重要意义。《红楼梦》作为中华传统文化百科全书,其丰富多元的茶文化要素引发了发学界关注。基于20世纪70—80年代出版发行的杨宪益夫妇译本、霍克思译本以及学界较为忽视的晚清时期英国外交官乔利的译本,本文从茶名、茶器和茶俗英译等多个维度综合考察了《红楼梦》茶文化的国际传播,指出高质量的茶文化传播需要译者综合考虑目标语读者的阅读体验、文化审美和信息缺失,促进典籍翻译从文学翻译向文化传播的回归。Chinese tea culture has a long history, and its international dissemination in the English-speaking world has played an important role in China's communication with other countries.A Dream of Red Mansions, serving as an encyclopedia of traditional Chinese culture, features a rich and diverse array of tea culture elements that have attracted scholarly attention. Based on the translations published in the 1970s and 1980s by Yang Xianyi and his wife, as well as by Hawkes, and the translation by British diplomat Jolly during the late Qing period, this paper examines the international spread of the tea culture from various perspectives, including the English translations of tea names, tea utensils, and tea customs. The study highlights that high-quality tea culture dissemination requires translators to consider the reading experience, cultural aesthetics, and information gaps of target language readers, facilitating the return of classical translation from literary translation to cultural transmission.
