摘  要:新课改要求教师不仅可以"传道、授业、解惑",而且要具备一定的与其教育教学相关的科研能力。考虑到新课改下提高英语教师教育科研素质的地方性和特殊性,该文针对如何提高西部落后地区英语教师教育科研素质提出了以下建议,即提高教师教育科研意识、重视科研与教学实践相结合、加强教师科研知识和技能的培养及建立教师的评价机制和科研激励机制。以期对英语教师教育科研素质的提高有一定的借鉴作用。As the reform of new curriculum progresses, it becomes a necessity for English teachers in primary and middle schools to have the abilities of both teaching and researching. In view of the regional specialty of strategies to improve the scientific re?search qualities of teachers, this paper puts forward the following 4 suggestions for English teachers in the remote undeveloped ar?eas of Northwest China, that is, 1) the improvement of teacher’s scientific research awareness, 2) the combination of research work and teaching practice, 3) the development of teacher’s scientific research knowledge and skills and 4) the establishment of evaluation and incentive systems of scientific research for teachers. It is expected to facilitate the improvement of English teach?ers’scientific research qualities.
