摘　　要：机械设计制造及其自动化专业的工程教育认证既是当代工程教育改革的内在要求和必然趋势,也是各大高校加快专业建设、提高人才培养质量的良好机会。分析了该专业的特点,介绍了专业认证的过程与方式,以华中科技大学为例,介绍了机械设计及其自动化专业工程教育认证的实践,并总结了工程教育认证的重要作用。Certification practice of engineering education for Mechanical Design and Automation profession is intrinsic requirement of modern engineering education reform and inevitable trend. And it is good opportunity to accelerate professional construction,and improve personnel training quality for major colleges and universities. Characteristic of this profession was analyzed.Process and method of professional certification were introduced. Taking Huazhong University of Science and Technology as an example,certification practice of engineering education for Mechanical Design and Automation profession was introduced. Important role of engineering education accreditation was summarized.
