摘　　要：公学是英国独立学校系统精英教育的主要构成部分,同时也是英国教育体系中最具特色的部分,它以其特点鲜明的办学在英国教育和社会发展中发挥着重要作用。公学办学的特色主要体现在招收年龄超过13岁的预备学校毕业的儿童,具有规模小、寄宿制、收费高昂、男女分校等特点。Public School is a major component of the UK Independent School System of elite education,but also the most unique part in the UK education. With its distinctive characteristics,Public School plays an important role in the UK education and social development. The main characteristics of public school are: graduation in the recruitment of older than 13 years of preparatory school children,small,boarding,high charges,segregated schools,and boys more than girls in the number of students.
