试论英语被动语态的交际功能

摘　　要：以Halliday提出的语义系统中语言的三大元功能之一———人际功能(interpersonalmetafunction)理论为基础,试图从人际功能的层面上分析被动语态在人际交往中所起的作用。经过初步分析,被动语态在人际交往功能层面上主要包含八类交际功能:维持信息的简洁性、维持交际的经济性、维持话题的连贯性、强调叙述的客观性、强调说话者的观点、逃避责任、表达说话者的语气和情绪、突出信息的戏剧性。被动语态的这八类交际功能往往共同作用于人际交往活动,并且使作为交际载体的语言在人际交往活动中更加经济有效。Based　upon　one　of　the　three　metafunctions　by　Halliday,ie.interpersonal　function,and　approaches　the　interpersonal　function　of　the　passive　voice　from　its　interpersonal　aspect.After　initial　study,summarizes　8　major　categories　of　communicative　functions　of　passive　voice:Simplicity,Economy,Connectivity,Factuality,Impressiveness,Escaping,Responsibility,Positioning,and　Highlighting.All　these　functions　interact　together　to　contribute　to　the　effective　and　efficient　interpersonal　communication　between　the　speaker　and　hearer.
