摘　　要：江泽民指出,促进人的全面发展是建设社会主义新社会的本质要求。推进人的全面发展,同推进经济、文化的发展和改善人民物质文化生活,是互为前提和基础的。我们要在发展社会主义物质文明和精神文明的基础上,不断推进人的全面发展。人的全面发展程度和社会生产力及经济文化发展水平一样,是逐步提高、永无止境的历史过程,二者相互结合、相互促进……这些论断体现了马克思主义与时俱进的理论品质,推进了对社会主义本质的探索,开拓了中国特色社会主义建设的新境界,对加快促进社会主义现代化建设具有重要的理论意义和实践意义。Jiang Zemin pointed out that it is an essential demand of building a new socialist society to promote the overall development. Promoting the overall development of man and promoting the development of economy and culture and improving the material and cultural civili-zaiton are preconditions and foundations of each other. We should unceasingly promote the overall development of man on the basis of developing material and spiritual civilization. Like the level of the development of social productivity and culture and economy, the degree of the overall development of man is a gradual and endless historical process of enhancement. They are integrated with each other and push each other forward. . . These ideas have embodied the theoretical quality of Marxism and the idea of keeping pace with the times, promoted the exploration of the nature of socialism, opened a new realm for the construction of socialism with Chinese Characteristics. It has a great theoretical and practical significance to speeding up the construction of the socialist modernizations.
