摘　　要：Malapropism是说话者或作者利用英语近音异义、白字别音,有意或无意地误用词语的一种独特的修辞方式。从语用学角度看,它是在违反关联准则和方式准则的情况下,生成一种言外之意,即会话含义。拟从词源与涵义出发对这一英语修辞格及其术语的译名和该辞格翻译等进行全面探析。Malapropisra is a special figure of speech in which a word or a phrase, sounding somewhat like the one intended but meaning quite differently in the context, is misused by a person who is both pretentious and ignorant. Pragmatically, its use cre-ates a kind of implication, i.e. the conversational implicature by means of violating the maxims of relevance and manner. This paper, starting from analyzing the origin of the word 'malapropism' and its meaning, attempts to discuss, the English figure of speech as well as the translation of the term 'malapropism' and the sentences containing the figure.
