摘 要:严复把教育看成是救国的根本。他在正确解决了中学与西学的关系问题的基础上,从中国教育的症结入手,通过强化教育救国观念,引进西方先进的教育理念和教育制度,改进基本的教育方法,实现其教育救国的主张。严复教育救国思想有两个方面的局限性,一是严复对西方教育文化认识上存在着矛盾性,二是对教育的过分依赖,忽略了政治变革的积极作用。Yan Fu regarded education as the basis of saving the nation. He resolved the problem of the relations between the Chinese learning and Western learning. Analyzing the problem of Chinese education, he introduced the advanced western educational idea and system to China, improving the basic educational method in order to make it true to save the country by education,. There are two limitations in Yan Fu's idea. One is his contradiction of understanding of the western educational culture. The other is his overstress on the function of education and deemphasis on the function of political reform.
