摘　　要：文章分析诺曼·梅勒的小说《刽子手之歌》中的主人公吉尔摩基于因果报应与轮回转世选择死亡的方式 ,反映了美国西部人与所生存环境的对立 ,反映了“群体社会”中人的精神危机与精神空虚 。By analyzing Gilmore's choice based on karma and reincarnation, hero in Norman Mailer's 'Executioner's Song', the conflicts between western Americans and the environment are reflected along with the revelation of man's psycho crisis and spiritual emptiness in the 'group society'. Furthermore, the real life of contemporary Americans is revealed so the source of man's alienation is presented.
