摘 要:面对高校人数的扩张,英语听力课面临一系列挑战,培养学生的自主学习能力显得尤为重要。教育部《大学英语教学指南》更是将发展自主学习能力作为大学英语教学的目标之一,TED演讲以其开放性、多样性和趣味性的特点符合当前英语听力自主学习的需要,因此受到学习者的青睐和课堂教学的欢迎。本研究先从国内外论证了TED演讲应用于英语听力课堂的必要性和可行性,然后把其作为提高学生自主学习能力的教学工具,并在支架理论下设计课堂。课后调查显示学生有较多的正反馈,这对培养学生的听力自主学习能力和提高英语教师的教学方法都有所启发。Facing the expansion of the number of students in universities, English listening class has a series of challenges, thus it is particularly important to train students’ autonomous listening learning ability. The Ministry of Education’s Guide to College English Teaching regards developing autonomous learning ability as one of the goals in college English teaching. TED talks with its openness, diversity and interesting characteristics, is in line with the current needs of English autonomous listening learning, therefore, favored by learners and teachers. This study first demonstrated the necessity and feasibility of applying TED talks to English listening classroom from home and abroad, and then used it as a teaching tool to improve students’ ability of autonomous listening learning, and designed the classroom under the scaffolding theory. The after-school survey shows that students have more positive feedback, which will inspire the training of students’ autonomous learning ability and improve the teaching methods of English teachers.
