摘　　要：本文从工程招投标英语翻译的重要性出发,通过列举实例,研究招投标英语的特点,对工程招投标文件的翻译进行分析,认为该类翻译具有使用专业词汇、结构严谨、使用正式词汇等特点,并提出译者应具备的专业素养等。随着对外工程项目合作的不断加深,探讨和归纳工程招投标英语的翻译特点,对相关译员翻译质量的提高有所裨益。Starting from the importance of English translation of engineering bidding, this paper analyzes the translation of engineering bidding documents by enumerating examples and studying the characteristics of English for bidding. It holds that this kind of translation is characterized by the use of professional vocabulary, rigorous structure and formal vocabulary. It also puts forward the professional quality that translators should have. With the deepening of cooperation in foreign engineering projects, it is helpful to explore and summarize the translation characteristics of English in engineering bidding, which will benefit to relevant translators.
