Suzhou classical gardens, with their elegant and chic architectural style as well as implicit and profound cultural heritage, have attracted a large number of tourists. Thus its promotional materials play a significant role in spreading Chinese traditional culture, improving its external promotion, and promoting the development of tourism. Therefore, the translation of Suzhou garden tourism materials has become a top priority in foreign-oriented publicity work. The final audience and intended purpose require that the target text must have a certain function, that is, attracting tourists on the basis of indicating the meaning of the source text. However, the current research on Suzhou garden tourism materials is mostly distributed in the translation strategies and its aesthetic attainments, and there is very little research on its textual characteristics. When analyzing the relevant bilingual materials, the author found that Chinese and English tourism texts differ from each other in detail and overall. At the lexical level, magnificent and complex words, four-character phrases and repeated expressions are often found in Chinese texts;while English prefers direct and straightforward ones, focusing on accuracy and practicality. At the syntactic level, Chinese content, mostly based on run-on sentences and topic sentences, is connected through the “idea combination”;while English pays attention to the logical and organic combination of the sentence structure which cannot be randomly matched to build the “form combination”. At the stylistic level, Chinese texts, which are more subjective, often express emotions through imagery and guide readers’ minds through their subjective imagination;while English texts, which are objective, tend to use plentiful details and descriptive explanations to provide practical and effective information, and to convey the beauty based on the standard evaluation. Therefore, based on a variety of on-the-spot and authoritative materials, this paper has summarized the differences be
