认知图式视域下《浮生六记》林译本中典故的翻译策略

摘  要:典故不仅是语言的核心元素,还蕴含着丰富的文化意义。典故的翻译质量会直接决定文本翻译的总体成果。图式理论为译者成功翻译典故提供了一个全新的翻译视角。图式理论认为,有效激活译语读者的相关文化认知图式是进行典故翻译的关键。如果忽略了读者在认知背景下的文化图式模式,或者原创作者与译文读者的文化认知图式存在差异,这都可能导致理解上的失误和偏见。只有当我们消除了由于认知和文化差异导致的理解困难时,我们才能准确且高效地翻译汉英之间的典故。本文以图式理论作为框架,分析了林语堂在翻译《浮生六记》时所采取的典故翻译策略。Allusions are an important part of language and have profound cultural connotations. The translation quality of allusions directly affects the overall translation effect of the article. Schema theory provides a new perspective for translators to successfully translate allusions. According to schema theory, effective activation of the relevant cultural cognitive schema of the target language reader is the key to allusion translation. If the relevant cultural schema in the reader’s cognitive context is absent or the cognitive cultural schema of the source text author and the target text reader are different, it will lead to the failure and deviation of understanding. Only by clearing the barriers to understanding difficulties caused by cognitive and cultural differences, can the translation of Chinese-English allusions be carried out correctly and effectively. Based on the framework of schema theory, this paper analyzes Yutang Lin’s allusion translation strategy in the translation of “The Six Records of a Floating Life”.
