摘　　要：认知语言学为委婉语的研究开创了新纪元,对发掘并阐释生成委婉语的深刻动因价值重大。在扼要回顾委婉语研究的传统方法及历时脉络并指出其不足的基础上,结合委婉语的各种类型并借鉴认知语言学理论,剖析背后深刻的隐喻—转喻双重理据。Cognitive Linguistics initiates a new era for the study of euphemism,and has an immense value to exploring and interpreting the cognitive motivation of euphemism.This paper,based on the concise review of the traditional researches of euphemism and the deficiency of their arguments,manipulates various types of euphemism and relevant Cognitive Linguistic theory in an attempt to analyze the underlying profound duplex metaphor-metonymy motivation.
