摘　　要：在19～20世纪的200年中,外科学领域出现了至少5个里程碑式的事件:即全身麻醉(乙醚)的应用,抗菌技术的问世,抗生素(青霉素)的发现,水与电解质平衡理论的建立以及器官(肾)移植的突破。21世纪以来,医学已步入新的生物医学时代,并从单一的生物学模式过渡到生理-心理-社会医学模式。和整个外科领域一样,口腔颌面外科临床在微创外科、数字医学、功能性外科以及生物医学工程学等方面有着较快的发展。本文旨在从理念上对这4个问题进行简要介绍和述评。During the 19th and 20th century,there were at least 5 milestones in the field of surgery,including:(1)the application of general anesthesia(ether);(2)the generation of asepsis;(3)the discovery of antibiotic(penicillin);(4)the establishment of the water-electrolyte balance theory;and(5)the breakthrough of organ(kidney)transplantation.Since the 21st century,medical science has been stepping into a new biology epoch and the medical model has been shifted from single biology model to physio-psycho-society medicalmodel.Just like the whole field of surgery,there are rapid de-velopment in some respects in the 21 century,such as(1) minimally invasive surgery,(2)digital medicine,(3)func-tional surgery,and(4)biomedical engineering in oral and maxillofacial surgery.This paper gives a brief introduction and commentary in those 4 aspects.
