摘  要:从回顾《朗曼当代英语词典》(LDOCE)三个版本的演变历程入手,侧重剖析第三版(LDOCE 3)在编码功能、语言描写、微观结构、计算机技术及语言学研究成果的运用等方面取得的进展和突破,并进一步指出LDOCE的发展史不仅显示了单语学习词典编纂在近20年中的发展轨迹,而且也预示着其今后的发展趋势。An appraisal is made in this article of the three editions of \%Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English (LDOCE ),with its focus on the third one. Such aspects are considered as the encoding function of a dictionary, the linguistic description of the English language, the microstructure, and the application of linguistic research work and computer technology to dictionary compilation. It is proposed that by means of such an exploration one can not only pinpoint the course monolingual learners dictionaries have covered over the last few decades, but sketch out the trend they may follow in the future.
