摘　　要：英国英语与美国英语是英语的两种变体。它们虽然植根于同一母体,但由于其历史、地理、文化环境的不同,除了英语的共性之外,各自都具有地域上的变体形式和社会语用方面的差异,主要体现在语音、词汇及习惯表达方面的不同。British English and American English are the two varieties of English. Besides the common features, there also exist some differences in pragmatics. Because of the different history, geography and calture, the differences are mainly reflected in phonetics, lexicon and common expressions.
