摘　　要：朱湘时逢我国五四时期,应时代大潮而提笔进行英诗翻译,他内向忧郁的性格决定了他选译华兹华斯、柯勒律治、济慈等人的诗歌.朱湘翻译英诗直译与意译并用,十分注重音韵和节奏,他的意译不仅是为了协韵,还要在不脱离原诗意境的前提下表现自己对原诗的独到见解,并在一定程度上染上了译语国的文化情调,是一种颇有造诣的个性化翻译.Zhu Xiang was engaged in the translation of the poems from English to Chinese in the period of the May 4th Movement in China. His melancholy personality made him favor such poems as Wordsworth, Coleridge, Keats. Zhu Xiang applied both literal and free translation methods and paid much attention to the rhymes and sounds in the poems. Besides making better rhymes, his free translation showed his original underatanding of the English poems while spicing them with the flavor of the receiving culture.
