摘　　要：英语委婉语应用于社会生活的诸多领域,它的产生和应用与社会现象息息相关,美国社会也不例外.Euphemism, which is one of the English figures of speech, is widely used in many fields in a society. Moreover, in every society, there is close relation between the usage of Euphemism and the social phemomena, and no exception for American society.
