Distinction between Tao and Ritual——A Study of Zhuang Zi’s Ritual Theory

摘　　要：Zuang Zi established his Ritual Theory based on the political criticism of The Three Dynasties’ Ritual and gave some positive assessment of its political meaning at the same time. He criticized The Three Dynasties’ Ritual with the Tao, pointing out the Ritual’s harm to the social order. He rebutted the Confucianism with his Ritual Theory, refuting the theoretical fault of the Confucian Ritual Theory. He also expounded the Ritual with the Tao, reversing The Three Dynasties’ Ritual. He explained the Tao with his Ritual Theory, holding that as the source of the Ritual, and the Tao consisting of the Ritual. Zuang Zi’ Ritual Theory is complicated because of his adherence to the principle of the Taoism, while being influenced by The Three Dynasties’ Ritual teaching and the Confucianism Ritual Theory as well.Zuang Zi established his Ritual Theory based on the political criticism of The Three Dynasties’ Ritual and gave some positive assessment of its political meaning at the same time.
