两种会话方式与高低语境文化

摘　　要：根据语言学家George Yule对会话方式的划分理论以及Edward T.Hall的文化语境性理论可知,中国文化是高语境文化,而美国文化是低语境文化,两种会话方式与高低语境文化的关系在高语境文化下是高体贴式,在低语境文化下是高介入式,可从文化历史和经济发展方面探讨其关系的根源,在同一种文化语境中两种会话方式在一定情况下可以互相转化。通过对上述方面的综合概述,我们引出进行成功的跨文化交际的方式和准则。According to George Yule's theory of the division of the conversational styles and Edward T.Hall's theory that culture is characterized by context that Chinese culture is a high-context one whereas American culture is a low-context one,this paper will briefly analyze the relationship between two conversational styles and high and low context cultures——high considerateness one in high-context culture and high involvement one in low-context culture,and then,we shall probe the source of this kind of relationship from cultural and historical angles,and the two conversational styles may interchange under certain conditions even in one context culture.Through the above analysis,we shall introduce some laws and principles in intercultural communication.
