专业外语教学的几点看法和认识

摘　　要：专业外语是本科和研究生教育不可或缺的课程。我们认为专业外语的重点既不是专业术语,也不是阅读课程,更不是翻译练习。专业外语的教学思想应该是让学生比较流利地用口语和书面语言清楚地表达科学概念。我们在实践上述思想为指导,淡化专业色彩,在学习材料的选择、课堂教学活动的实施以及考核等方面采取了一系列新的措施。Professional English is one of the necessary courses in university education. The heart and soul of professional English is not professional vocabularies, reading and translation exercises. The guideline of professional English teaching should be to let the students to express scientific concepts clearly both in spoken and written English. So, in practice, we try to play down the professional knowledge and adopt a series of new measures in choosing of teaching materials, class activities and examinations.
