摘  要:20世纪初卡内基教学促进基金会对美国高等教育发展的影响主要体现在相互联系的两个方面:一是通过参与设定院校标准推进提高高校办学水准;二是开展专业教育调查研究,志在全美的专业领域形成统一的、以科学为基础的培训范式。两者都是教促会推进美国高等教育标准化发展的有机组成部分。基金会创建者的远见卓识,注重提高基金会的社会互动能力,以及基金会坚持以事实说话的行事策略,都将为我国有志于参与教育探究的民间力量或组织提供参考和借鉴。The impact of CFAT to the higher education of America during the early 20th century exists in two related sides:The first is CFAT fostered to improve the standard of higher education through answering the question "What is a college or university" ; The second is CFAT investigated the professional education in order to formulate the united system of training based on science. The two sides relate to each other and both contribute to CFAT in its efforts to advance the standardization of American higher education. The leader' s ambition, the Foundation' s broad social relationship with other professional bodies and the strategy of finding out the truth of CFAT contribute to the success of CFAT. The Foundation's successful experiences will bring some enlightenment and reference to the people or bodies who want to influence the policy or practice of the education with non-govemmental resources.
