摘　　要：任鸿隽一生致力于中国的科学事业和科学教育事业。他针砭时弊,探讨中国无科学的原因;主张科学与教育联系,倡导科学教育为近代社会生产及生活服务。与前人相比,任鸿隽更加重视科学精神的养成和科学方法的运用,在中国近代科学教育思潮形成的过程中发挥了重要作用。Ren Hong-juan devoted his whole life to the science and science education of China. He explored the causes for lack of science in China, suggested that science should be connected with education and advocated science education should serve for the modem production and life. Compared with the predecessors, he laid more emphasis on cultivating scientific spirit and applying scientific method. He played an important role in the formation of modem educational thought.
