摘  要:在我国的英语教学中,教材的重要作用不言而喻。教学质量在很大程度上取决于教材,教材是实现教学大纲的基础,是教师组织课堂教学的主要依据,同时也是学生学习知识和技能的主要来源。因此,在选择教材之前对教材进行综合评估是十分必要的。随着大学英语教学改革的深入,国内出版和发行了不少以《大学英语教学大纲》(修订版)为纲的大学英语教材。由外语教学与研究出版社出版、郑树堂任总主编的《新视野大学英语》作为其中的一套,自它面市以来在很多大专院校得到了广泛采用。该教材着眼于对学生听、说、读、写、译综合应用能力的培养,开拓我国英语教材的新模式。本文试图运用相关的教材评估理论对该套教材进行系统的分析和评估。笔者旨在通过此文引起广大教师对于教材评估的重视,促进英语教学模式的积极转变。Undoubtedly, course book plays a very important role in the context of English teaching and learning in China. Course book is best seen as an essential contributing to the content and the achievement of teaching objectives. It is also the main resource for students to gain knowledge and skills. Consequently, it is necessary to evaluate a course book before selecting it. With the reform of college English teaching, a variety of course books are compiled and published in the market which are claimed to be in llne with the National College English Syllabus. As one of them, New Horizon College English has been popularly adopted in plenty of colleges and universities since its first publication. The series of this course book lay much emphasis on cultivating students' five basic skills of listening, speaking, read- ing, writing and translating, which introduces a new model of English course book. The paper attempts to conduct a systematic analysis and evaluation of this series of college English course book based on the concerned evaluation theories. The author hopes that this paper can arouse teachers' attention to the evaluation of course book contributing to the positive change of English teaching pattern.
