摘　　要：20世纪90年代以来,世界各国掀起了新一轮构建学习化社会的热潮,美国也开始重视研究高等教育在学习化社会中的发展及其所应具有的使命。1999年9月,凯洛格州立和赠地大学未来委员会发布了影响深远的报告《回到根本:一个学习化社会》,该报告指导美国州立和赠地院校更好地回应学习化社会的需求,同时,某种程度上可以给处于学习化社会创建中的我国高校提供些许借鉴。Since the 1990s,there has been a new trend of creating a learning society in the world,including America. From then on,America has paid much more attention to the development and mission of higher education in learning society. In September 1999,Kellogg Commission on the Furore of State and Land-Grant Universities issued a report “Returning to Our Roots ：A Learning Society”. This report guides American State and Land-Grant Universities to meet the demands of learning society and provides some useful enlightenment for our universities in the process of building a learning society.
