摘　　要：教育是一种人类特有的社会活动。教育的这种特有性源于人的生命的独特性,无论是未特定化的自然生命,还是超自然的精神生命、社会生命,其发展都离不开教育。这就决定了教育是生命发展的需要,关注生命是教育的根本使命。然而,现代学校教育由于追求教育的工具性而忽视了这一根本使命。因此,素质教育呼唤教育回归生命。Education is humani＇s unique social activity. Education this kind of unique stems from person＇s life distinctive quality, regardless of being the won specific natural life. the supernatural energetic llfe, the social life, its development cannot sepervate from the education. This has decided that the education is the life to be developed, and the attention to life is the education basic mission. However, the modem school edition has neglected this basic mission as a result of pursuing education＇s utilizable. Therefore education for all-around development summon education returning to life.
